Position Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the second-in-command in the organization and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring that all programs, departments, and teams function efficiently and in alignment with the NGO’s mission and strategic goals. The COO works closely with the CEO/Executive Director and other senior leaders to maintain operational excellence, compliance, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the daily operations of all departments (programs, finance, HR, administration, communications, etc.).
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure smooth coordination between field teams and headquarters.
Strategic Implementation
- Translate the organization’s strategic vision into actionable plans.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Optimize resources for maximum program impact.
Team & People Management
- Supervise senior managers and department heads.
- Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and capacity-building of staff.
Financial Oversight
- Work with the CFO/Finance Manager to prepare and manage annual budgets.
- onitor expenditures, ensure donor fund utilization is compliant.
- Contribute to resource mobilization strategies.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Ensure all programs are monitored for quality and impact.
- Use data to make informed operational decisions.
- Maintain transparency in reporting to stakeholders.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Represent the NGO in external meetings, networks, and partnerships when needed.
- Liaise with donors, government agencies, and partner organizations.

LOCATION : UNDER YOUR DISTRICT UNDER CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
WORKING HOURS : 9:30AM TO 5PM (Saturday and Sunday Off)

- Reports to: CEO / Executive Director
- Supervises: All Department Heads (Programs, Finance, HR, Admin, M&E, Communications)
