Problem
Only 2 institutions in Raichur are conducting Vocational training programmes due to which skill India programme is not taking off. Hence there is need for creating more skill development trainers to increase the coverage of youths under skill development programme.
Total 4,544 members are enrolled per 1 lakh population under PMJJBY in Raichur (as against state best 8,299).
Total disbursement of Mudra loan per 1 lakh population is 17.29 in Raichur which needs to be improved.
Objective
Personal development of youth who have dropped out of school.
Support the youth in economic empowerment opportunities through suitable jobs & self-employment or higher education and ensure engagement opportunities.
Economic Empowerment at the level of family.
Social Empowerment at the level of community.
Description
If disconnected youth are empowered and transformed through life and work readiness and have multiple channels/opportunities to pursue higher education, employment and entrepreneurship, then communities can be moved out of poverty and social transformation can be achieved.
The key activities in achieving this above said outcome are:
Identification of youth who have dropped out of schools or never been to schools.
and identifying their aspiration.
Training induction and registration to bring them into the system.
Developing life and work capable skills of the identified youth.
Giving exposure to the youth to industry experts and mentors in order to create a strong, community driven eco-system.
Connecting youth to internships/on-the-job trainings to condition them to mainstream work atmosphere.
Creating access to markets by connecting to jobs, higher education, self employment.
Reduce poverty and increase social and economic empowerment through the transformed youth.
